Biography

Theodoros Katsaros DDS, MSD, FRCD(C)

Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology

Dr. Katsaros is a dually Board Certified periodontist in Canada as well as in the United States. In 2008 he graduated with his dental degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He served in the Greek army from 2002 until 2013 and practiced general dentistry in military hospitals and private practice for 5 years before moving to the United States in 2013. In June of 2016, he received his certificate in periodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, School of Dentistry in New Orleans. Following his graduation he joined the University of Iowa College of Dentistry as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics. During his time at the University of Iowa he served as the director of predoctoral periodontics and, in the last two years, as the director of the Graduate Program and the Visiting Scholar Program. He also maintained a busy faculty practice limited to periodontics and implant dentistry. Dr. Katsaros has received awards from  several organizations such as Louisiana State University, the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. He has also authored or co-authored multiple articles published in peer-reviewed journals and two book chapters. In 2020, he transitioned to full-time private practice serving Toronto and the surrounding regions.
